Family Day at the National Museum of the Marine Corps
On Saturday June 9th The National Museum of the Marine Corps will be hosting its monthly Family Day.
This month the theme is Flags and the Marine Corps Cover (hat). Children are welcome to come to the Museum between 12:00pm and 3:00pm and make a flag and Cover to take home.
While at the National Museum of the Marine Corps make sure you take in some of the exhibits. a great exhibit to take in is the “9/11-We Remember” that commemorates 9/11. The exhibit includes an I-beam from the World Trade Center and a building fragment from the Pentagon. This exhibit also pays tribute to the Marine Corps with a display of the Marine Corp flag found standing upright near a sheered edge of the Pentagon. The exhibit will be on display through September 2012.
After all the fun of making a Marine Corps cover and taking in the exhibits of the Museum you will probably get hungry. The Museum has two choices for having a bite to eat. first, you can grab something to eat at the Devil Dog Diner. The Diner features continental breakfast and full selection of lunch items. The Diner is open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. another great choice is the Tun Tavern. The Tavern is decorated as the original 18th Century Tavern originally located in Philadelphia, PA. Marine Corps legend says the first Colonial Marines were recruited from that location in 1775 by Samuel Nicholas. The Tavern offers a varied menu including Loaded Potato Chip Melt, Brunswick stew, and Sandwiches such as Yorktown Chicken Salad Sandwich. If you still have room after your yummy lunch grab a dessert like French Quarter Bread Pudding! The Tavern is open from 11:00 am-4:00 pm. both eateries are located on the second floor of the Museum for more info go to restaurants.
The Museum is located at 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway, Triangle, VA. The Museum is open daily 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily except Christmas Day, their is no fee to the Museum, donations are accepted.
What a great way to spend a Saturday, learning about the Marine Corp and having a great lunch!!

I was just looking for this information for a while. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your web site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this type of informative sites in top of the list. Normally the top sites are full of garbage. cheap archeage gold
